The AACR/ASCO Methods in Clinical Cancer Research Workshop is an intensive workshop in the essentials of effective clinical trial designs of therapeutic interventions in the treatment of cancer for clinical fellow and junior faculty clinical researchers in all oncology subspecialties, including radiation and surgical oncology and radiology.
The goal of this intensive workshop is to introduce clinical fellows and junior faculty to principles of good clinical trial design while exposing them to the full spectrum of challenges in clinical cancer research, and to develop a cadre of researchers whose expertise will foster better clinical trial design.
While the primary focus is training clinicians for clinical research, the AACR, ASCO, Codirectors, and Faculty Members recognize the importance and need for well-trained biostatisticians. Therefore, we are offering a specialized training program for five (5) early-career faculty biostatisticians. Selected participants will integrate into the Workshop’s existing infrastructure, participating in lectures, small group discussions, and protocol development working groups alongside senior Biostatistician Faculty throughout the week. Those selected will receive complimentary Workshop registration, hotel accommodations, and travel to the Workshop from July 26-31, 2026 in Vail, Colorado.
Eligibility
Biostatisticians within five (5) years of an initial cancer center faculty appointment and within ten (10) years of a doctoral degree are eligible to apply. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis for unusual circumstances, such as for investigators changing fields in more advanced stages in their career.
Award
Selected attendees will receive complimentary Workshop registration, hotel accommodations, and travel (restrictions apply).
